It’s important to find what you love to do and do that. If exercising is not fun, you won’t do it.

For me, variety is key as well. I cannot get stuck doing one program for too long; my body and my mind get bored. If you’ve always been a person that solely does cardio, I would suggest incorporating weights a few days per week. You will see your body change faster and will feel better. There’s nothing like tightening up those areas!

Women in particular should not be afraid to lift heavy weights. Our bodies can handle it–trust me! I am a huge believer in HIIT, High-Intensity Interval training. I started incorporating HIIT exercises into my routine two years ago, and I haven’t looked back. I got leaner than I’d ever been and was motivated to train and register for  my first figure competition!

Whatever you choose to do, you must be consistent. Do it five days per week. It’s more important what you do most of the week than what you do once or twice a week (indulge in a glass of wine, eat an entire pizza). Your health is the most important aspect of your life that you can influence!
